✦ Corporate team building in Calgary

The team build people
actually talk about.

Give your team something to make with their hands. Everyone starts equally bad at it, which is the fastest way past the awkward hour, and everyone leaves holding something they made. Private studio, all materials, food and bar handled.

Why making works

It breaks the ice without an icebreaker.

Nobody enjoys being told to form a circle and share a fun fact. A craft session does the same job sideways, it gives people a task, a reason to talk, and something to be gently bad at together.

01

Seniority disappears

Your director and your newest hire are equally hopeless with a tufting gun for the first ten minutes. That levelling is the whole point, and it happens without anyone having to engineer it.

02

Quiet people are included

Hands-on work gives people who dread open-floor activities something to do while they talk. Conversation happens side by side over a bench rather than across a circle, which is a very different social ask.

03

Nobody has to perform

There's no winning, no scoring and no team that loses. The pressure that makes people dread team building simply isn't in the room.

04

It lasts past the afternoon

Every guest leaves with the thing they made. A month later it's on a desk or a shelf, still doing the work, which is more than can be said for a round of go-karting.

05

Small teams fit properly

Most team-building venues are built for 40 or more and a team of eight rattles around in them. We run sessions from small groups upward, so a team of six gets a real session rather than an awkward one.

06

It's genuinely easy to organise

One point of contact, one quote, one invoice. Materials, facilitators, catering and bar all come from us, so there's no supplier list to chase.

What's included

One quote covers the lot.

You bring the people and a date. Everything that has to happen in the room is ours to organise.

Private studio buyout, the whole space is yours, no other guests in the room
All materials, every tool and material each guest needs, plus the piece they keep
Expert facilitators, our artisans run the session start to finish, not a handover
Catering, plated or buffet, with dietary requirements handled in advance
Bar service, beer & wine through to full premium, hosted or on consumption
A/V and projector, for the ten minutes of actual business, if you need them
Invoicing, pay on invoice rather than a company card at the door
A keepsake each, everyone leaves with the thing they made, boxed to carry

Plan the day

Three ways the afternoon can run.

Timings are examples, we'll shape them around your day. Plenty of teams bolt a short meeting onto the front, which is what the projector is for.

Create, then celebrate

Get hands-on first while everyone is fresh, then let it turn social.

The numbers

Custom quote, and no hidden floor.

Corporate events are quoted per guest against your group size, experience and food and drink. We come back within 24 hours with a real number rather than a starting-from figure that changes later.

What we don't charge

No room-rental line and no minimum spend. Those are the two places a venue quote usually grows after you've agreed to it, so it's worth saying plainly that neither applies here.

You pay per guest for the experience, plus whatever food and drink you choose. That's the whole structure.

Custom

Larger groups often split across two studios and swap, which keeps the room moving and gives people something to compare afterwards.

Questions we get from organisers

How much does corporate team building cost in Calgary?

It depends on group size, which experience you choose and what you add for food and drink, so we quote per guest rather than publishing a single figure. For reference, our public sessions run from $50 to $90 per person for the experience alone, and a catered event with a bar sits above that. Send us the numbers and you'll have a real quote within 24 hours.

What group sizes can you take?

Private events run from around 10 up to 40 guests. Smaller teams are very welcome too, a group of five or six gets a proper session rather than being lost in a room built for forty, which is the usual problem with team-building venues.

How long does a team build take?

Most land between two and four hours depending on the experience. Candle Craft and My Collection run about two hours; Tufted Threads and Lace Lab are longer. Add time if you want food or a social hour either side.

How far in advance should we book?

Three to six weeks is the usual recommendation, and weekends book up fastest. For November and December, come to us in early autumn, those dates go long before the season feels close. Last minute? Still ask, and we'll check.

Do we need any experience?

None at all. Every experience is built for people who have never done it before, and an artisan stays with the group throughout rather than demonstrating once and leaving.

Can you cater, and can you handle dietary requirements?

Yes to both. Catering is plated or buffet, and we collect dietary requirements with your final numbers so the kitchen has them in advance rather than on the day. Tell us about allergies specifically, they're handled differently from preferences.

Can we run a meeting or presentation as well?

Yes. A projector and A/V are available, and plenty of teams put a short session at the front before moving to the benches. It's the most common offsite format we run.

Is there a minimum spend or a room rental fee?

No. There's no room-rental line and no minimum spend. You pay per guest for the experience plus whatever food and drink you choose.

What are the drinks options?

Everything comes from our bar, packages run from beer and wine up to premium spirits, hosted for a set time, billed on consumption, or on drink tickets if you'd rather cap it. It keeps the service quick and the licensing straightforward, so it's how we'd always suggest doing it. If there's one particular bottle that matters to the occasion and it isn't something we pour, ask us, we can sometimes allow it on a corkage basis ($40 a bottle for wine, other types quoted individually). That's an exception we make for the special case, not a way to stock the party.

Can you invoice us rather than take a card?

Yes, invoicing is available for corporate bookings, which is usually easier than someone expensing a large card payment on the day.

Is the studio accessible, and is there parking?

We're at 2713 14 St SW in Calgary. The studio is on the ground floor, with street parking and a nearby lot. If anyone in your group has specific access needs, tell us in the enquiry and we'll confirm exactly what to expect.

What if we're not a 'crafty' team?

Most groups aren't, and it genuinely doesn't matter. There's no skill assumed and nothing to get wrong, the point is the couple of hours spent doing something together, not the quality of the output. The sceptics are usually the ones who get most into it.
