The trouble with a birthday dinner is the seating plan: you talk to whoever's beside you for three hours and never reach the other end of the table. A room where people are up and moving fixes that by itself.

This is the rare activity a twelve-year-old and a grandparent can do side by side and both genuinely enjoy. For a family birthday that's usually the hardest thing to find.

Tell us what you want to eat and when you want the cake, and we'll build the afternoon around it. Nobody has to coordinate a restaurant booking for twenty on a Saturday.

My Collection is our most relaxed and most kid-friendly experience: the cast resin is solid and forgiving, the paint wipes clean, and there is genuinely no wrong way to do it.

The cheapest way to do it
If you're watching the budget: book a private session on My Collection and keep the catering simple. It's the lowest per-guest option we have and it's also the one that works best for kids.
No minimum spend and no room-rental fee, so a smaller group isn't penalised.

Birthday questions
How much is a birthday party in Calgary?
The Birthday Bash package starts at $95 per guest. A straight private session without catering is less, crafts are charged at our group rate, 25% off the regular price. My Collection is the lowest per-guest option at $50.
What about the cake?
Tell us when you enquire and we'll sort it out with you, along with the rest of the catering, and plan the timings around when you want it brought out.
Is this suitable for children?
Yes, My Collection in particular. It's our most relaxed and most kid-friendly experience: the resin is solid and forgiving, mistakes wipe clean, and there's no wrong way to paint. For older kids and teens, any of the four work.
How many guests can you take?
Private events are for 10 to 40 guests on a full studio buyout. For fewer than 10, book a regular session instead.
How long does it take?
Most events run two to three hours including arrival, the experience and time to sit down with cake. Candle Craft and My Collection are around two hours; Tufted Threads and Lace Lab run longer.
What are the drinks options?
Everything comes from our bar, packages run from beer and wine up to premium spirits, hosted for a set time, billed on consumption, or on drink tickets if you'd rather cap it. It keeps the service quick and the licensing straightforward, so it's how we'd always suggest doing it. If there's one particular bottle that matters to the occasion and it isn't something we pour, ask us, we can sometimes allow it on a corkage basis ($40 a bottle for wine, other types quoted individually). That's an exception we make for the special case, not a way to stock the party.
Can we decorate the space?
Bring what you like within reason and tell us in the enquiry, it's your buyout, so it should look like your party.
What about a milestone birthday for adults?
Works just as well, and the evening format with a bar is the usual choice. A 30th or a 40th in a private studio with drinks and something to make tends to go down better than a restaurant booking for twenty.
Can you handle allergies and dietary needs?
Yes, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options run across the catering. Tell us about allergies specifically and we'll plan around them.
How far in advance should we book?
Three to six weeks, and weekends fill fastest. If your date is closer, ask anyway.
