A work Christmas party
nobody dreads.

No long table, no speeches over cold chicken, no standing about with a drink waiting to leave. Your team makes something instead, then eats, drinks and goes home with it. Private studio, festive catering, bar included.

Six ideas that aren't a banquet hall

Ways to run it.

The complaint about work Christmas parties is nearly always the same: too much sitting, too much small talk, nothing to do. Every format below fixes that by giving people something in their hands.

01

Make-and-mingle

The default, and the easiest sell. Two hours at the benches with the bar open throughout, then food. People drift between tables while they work, which is the mingling that usually has to be forced.

02

Secret Santa, but handmade

Everyone makes the gift rather than buying one. It removes the twelve-dollar-panic-buy problem entirely, and the exchange at the end is genuinely fun rather than dutiful.

03

Two studios, swap halfway

Split a larger team across two experiences and rotate. It keeps the room moving and gives people something to compare, which does more for cross-team conversation than a seating plan.

04

Awards, then hands

Get the speeches and the recognition done in the first twenty minutes with the projector, while everyone is still listening, then move to the benches. Far kinder than speeches after two hours at a bar.

05

Candles for the client list

Some teams use the session to make client gifts rather than keepsakes. Same afternoon, and the gifts are hand-made by the people sending them.

06

Afternoon finish

Not every holiday party has to be an evening. An afternoon session that ends at the bar lets people go home at a reasonable hour, which for teams with families is the single most appreciated decision you can make.

The numbers

From $115 per guest.

The Holiday Party package is priced per guest and covers the experience, festive catering, a two-hour bar and the studio itself. Bar tier and catering can move up or down from there.

Book earlier than feels necessary

December weekends are the most contested dates of the year and most Calgary organisers lock them in during September and October. By late November the question stops being which date you want and becomes which date is left.

If December matters to your team, enquire now and hold it. There's no payment required to ask.

Christmas party questions

How much is a corporate Christmas party in Calgary?

Our Holiday Party package starts at $115 per guest, which covers the studio experience, festive catering with dessert, a two-hour Standard bar and a private buyout. Moving the bar tier or catering up or down moves the figure. There's no room rental and no minimum spend on top.

How many people can you host for a holiday party?

Private events are for 10 to 40 guests on a full studio buyout. For fewer than 10, book a regular session instead.

When should we book our work Christmas party?

September or October for a December date. It's the most contested booking window of the year, and by late November the good weekends have generally gone. Enquiring costs nothing and holds your place in the conversation.

Can you do a daytime or afternoon party?

Yes, and it's underrated. An afternoon session finishing at the bar means people get home at a reasonable hour, which teams with young families consistently appreciate more than a late evening.

What's included in the bar?

The package includes a two-hour Standard bar, well spirits, canned beer, wine and coolers. You can move up to Premium for top-shelf spirits and a full cocktail menu, down to beer and wine, or switch to drink tickets or billing on consumption if you'd rather cap it.

What are the drinks options?

Everything comes from our bar, packages run from beer and wine up to premium spirits, hosted for a set time, billed on consumption, or on drink tickets if you'd rather cap it. It keeps the service quick and the licensing straightforward, so it's how we'd always suggest doing it. If there's one particular bottle that matters to the occasion and it isn't something we pour, ask us, we can sometimes allow it on a corkage basis ($40 a bottle for wine, other types quoted individually). That's an exception we make for the special case, not a way to stock the party.

Can you handle dietary restrictions?

Yes. We collect requirements alongside your final numbers so the kitchen has them well before the day. Flag genuine allergies separately from preferences, they're handled differently.

Can we do gift exchanges or awards?

Both work well here. Awards are best done early with the projector while everyone is still listening. For gift exchanges, plenty of teams make the gifts during the session and swap them at the end.

Do we need to know how to make anything?

No. Every experience assumes no experience, and an artisan stays with the group throughout. Nobody is left holding a tool wondering what to do with it.

Is there parking, and where are you?

2713 14 St SW, Calgary. The studio is on the ground floor, with street parking and a nearby lot.

What if our numbers change?

Tell us as early as you can and we'll re-quote. Final numbers firm up closer to the date, which is normal, December headcounts always move.
