✦ Bachelorette parties in Calgary

The bit of the weekend
she'll actually remember.

Somewhere between the brunch and the night out, there's usually a gap nobody planned. Fill it with two hours of making something, drinks in hand, the whole studio to yourselves, and everyone leaves holding a keepsake instead of a hangover.

Why it works for a bachelorette

It suits the group you've actually got.

A bachelorette is rarely one tidy friend group. It's university friends, work friends, a sister, and someone's mum, all being asked to spend a day together. Making something gives them all the same thing to talk about.

01

It works for mixed ages

The bride's aunt and her roommate from second year can both do this, and both enjoy it. That is not true of a pole class or a nightclub table, and it's usually the hardest part of planning a bachelorette to solve.

02

Nobody has to drink to enjoy it

There's a bar if you want one, and the activity works exactly as well without it. Anyone who isn't drinking, and there's often someone, isn't left standing about holding a soda water.

03

It photographs beautifully

Paint, colour, a room full of people mid-project. The photos from this part of the weekend tend to be the ones that actually get printed, rather than the blurry ones from later.

04

Everyone goes home with a favour

No goodie bags to assemble at midnight. The thing each guest made is the favour, and it's better than anything you'd have bought.

05

The bride gets something made for her

Plenty of groups turn it into a gift: everyone paints a piece for the couple, or the group customises a pair of shoes for the wedding. It gives the afternoon a point beyond itself.

06

It's one message to organise

Tell us the date and the headcount. The space, the materials, the drinks and the food are ours to sort, which matters when you're already coordinating eleven people and a hotel.

The numbers

From $129 per guest.

The Bachelor / Bachelorette Send-off is priced per guest and covers the experience, shareable plates, a two-hour Premium bar and the studio itself. Smaller groups and simpler bars bring it down, just ask.

You don't have to take the package

If the Send-off is more than you need, say so. Plenty of groups book a straight private session with a lighter bar and keep the catering simple. That's genuinely fine, and often the better call for a smaller group.

There's no minimum spend and no room-rental fee either way.

Bachelorette questions

How much is a bachelorette party in Calgary?

Our Send-off package starts at $129 per guest and includes the experience, shareable plates and a two-hour Premium bar. A straight private session without catering starts considerably lower, crafts are charged at our group rate, 25% off the regular price. Tell us the size of the group and we'll quote both.

How many people can come?

Private events are for 10 to 40 guests on a full studio buyout. For fewer than 10, book a regular session instead.

What are the drinks options?

Everything comes from our bar, packages run from beer and wine up to premium spirits, hosted for a set time, billed on consumption, or on drink tickets if you'd rather cap it. It keeps the service quick and the licensing straightforward, so it's how we'd always suggest doing it. If there's one particular bottle that matters to the occasion and it isn't something we pour, ask us, we can sometimes allow it on a corkage basis ($40 a bottle for wine, other types quoted individually). That's an exception we make for the special case, not a way to stock the party.

How long does it take?

Most events run two to three hours including a welcome and time to sit down. Candle Craft and My Collection are the shorter ones; Tufted Threads and Lace Lab run longer, so plan the evening accordingly.

Do any of us need to be good at art?

No, and it genuinely doesn't matter. Every experience assumes no experience, and an artisan stays with the group the whole way through. The people who insist they're not creative are usually the ones who get most absorbed.

How far in advance should we book?

Three to six weeks is the usual recommendation, and weekends book up fastest, which is when most bachelorettes happen. If your date is close, still ask; we'll check availability straight away.

Can we decorate, or bring a playlist?

Bring what you like within reason, tell us in the enquiry and we'll make sure the room works for it. It's your buyout, so it should feel like your party.

Is there a deposit?

A 25% deposit secures your date and is applied to your total. The rest, including the remaining gratuity, is settled at the studio on the day of your event. Nothing is payable just to enquire.

Can we make something for the bride?

Lots of groups do. The most popular version is everyone painting or pouring a piece for the couple, or customising a pair of shoes for the wedding day. Mention it when you enquire and we'll plan the session around it.

Where are you, and is there parking?

2713 14 St SW, Calgary. The studio is on the ground floor, with street parking and a nearby lot.
